o including task types, timing, and assessment criteria for Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.

    Improve English language proficiency

o across all four skills with a focus on academic and everyday contexts.

    Enhance vocabulary and grammar accuracy

o relevant to IELTS topics and high-band performance.

    Practise under exam conditions

o to build familiarity, confidence, and consistency.

    Receive individualised feedback

o from experienced IELTS teachers to identify strengths and areas for improvement.

    CORE TEXTBOOK

AIL’s IELTS Preparation Course uses Pearson’s Expert IELTS series as its core textbook, guiding students through all IELTS question types for both Academic and General Training tests. The course is structured around ten topic-based modules, divided into test training and test practice sections, designed to build confidence and help students achieve their target band scores efficiently.

Each module features Task Analysis and Assess and Improve sections that help students identify strengths and areas for improvement, keeping them engaged and motivated throughout their learning journey. The Expert Speaking component includes practice videos and activities with real IELTS students, giving practical insights into the speaking test. The Expert Writing section, with authentic tasks, model answers, and key language focus, provides essential preparation for achieving success in the writing paper.

    BEYOND TEXTBOOK

AIL provides a wealth of additional teaching and practice materials to support its IELTS Preparation Course, including in-house developed practice tests that closely mirror the format and standard of the official IELTS test. This gives students an authentic test experience — a unique highlight of AIL’s program.

Another major strength of the course is AIL’s team of experienced IELTS experts, many with over 20 years of teaching experience. Small class sizes ensure every student has ample opportunity to practise and receive individualised feedback.

Writing is often the most challenging component for test takers. In AIL’s writing classes, teachers guide students through IELTS band descriptors, clearly explaining the differences between Band 6, 7, and 8, and providing real examples of common mistakes to help students avoid them. Lessons focus on task response, including how to craft strong topic sentences, structure Task 1 and Task 2 essays, use effective examples to support arguments, and develop topic-specific vocabulary. Students practise writing introductions, body paragraphs, and conclusions in class, with homework tasks checked and discussed in subsequent lessons.

Speaking is another key focus area. AIL’s IELTS experts not only explain the marking rubrics but also provide practical tips, strategies, and correction-based feedback. Every student gets plenty of opportunities to speak, refine pronunciation, and build confidence through interactive practice.

A major feature of the course is the in-house practice test, conducted under real test conditions. Students sit the test in person, follow official instructions, and receive a detailed individual performance report and feedback — helping them identify strengths and areas for further improvement before taking the official IELTS test.

AIL IELTS experts helped me achieve my desired score!!

    • Thank you Martin, and thank you AIL!! By taking 5 weeks intensive IELTS training, I’ve finally nailed the IELTS writing 7 and IELTS speaking 8. Before joining AIL IELTS test preparation course, I have taken IELTS test for three times and always struggling with my writing and speaking. Martin is a very kind, experienced, and qualified IELTS expert and teacher, his class is full of content and very useful. For the writing part, Martin focused on my writing task response as well as logic flows making my arguments and examples well connected to each other. For the speaking part, he helped correct my pronunciation mistakes and taught me a lot of phrasal verbs and Australian native slangs and expressions. To me, IELTS learning has no short cuts, you have to improve your language skills. Find a qualified organisation and an experienced IELTS teacher is the key!!
